An adventure in the East Pacific Ocean

This summer, my family and I got bored of always staying at home, lying in our bed and rarely going anywhere in the summer break, so we decided to do something about it. We had been planning a trip to somewhere new, so we thought the East Pacific would be a perfect destination.

We travelled two for days on a huge cruise ship to the Easter Islands. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the natives and our tour guide. We left our luggage in the hotel and we went to visit the Moais. If you didn't know, the Moai are some giant stone statues made by the Rapa Nui people ages ago.

As I was saying, we arrived at the exhibition area where we could look at the Moai statues. My family was busy taking pictures, but I spotted an interesting statue. It was different from the others.

I went to check it out why it was like that. As I got closer and closer, I started hearing talking, but I didn't see anyone near me. I looked behind the statue, and I saw two little children. They looked scared and fascinated at the same time. I asked them what the matter was, and they told me to follow them, so I did.

We went down a steep alley and we ended up in a little valley next to the ocean. They told me to put on a diving suit and swim to a certain rock. I quickly dressed up and jumped into the water. When I arrived there, there was a huge sunken ship. It was rusted and it seemed really old. I swam inside and I found a large metal box. I immediately returned to shore and showed it to the two children who were still waiting for me. They were also surprised, especially when we opened it and found a lot of gold and some diamonds.

I couldn't take it home with me, so I decided to gift them the treasure.

After I returned to the port, my parents were really angry at me because I’d gone missing, and they had to miss the firework show, but when I told them what I had found and done, they told me that they were proud of me for my kindness.
