At the Bikini Atoll

Down, deep in the vast azure,
At a place filled with fish manure,
There dwelled a curious sponge,
A plankton, a squirrel; what a queer bunch!
Swimming were fish by the dozen,
Around their lair called Bikini Bottom.
They lived in harmony, in peace,
Even though the starfish had an evil niece.
But one day a thick shadow was dragged
Over the horizon to the town it crept,
Then a huge flash of light appeared.
All through the village the silence was kept,
As no words were uttered,
Everything dark, silent.
