Gen Z

Everyone knows us as the spoiled kids, also called “Gen Z”,   

Faces smudged into phones is what everyone can see.

But unfortunately, nobody knows how rough and how tough it can be,

To find peace searching the internet, while knowing the refuge is not guaranteed. 

However, there seems to be a potential remedy, 

And that’s love, with its warming and tender melody.

It’s a bliss in my generation where two timid and lost souls 

Find each other by chance, supporting the other half to achieve their goals. 

Love is indeed the key to happiness in today’s world, 

The correction of every flaw, the meaning and message of every word,

Is really the truth behind surviving today’s generation, 

Since people connecting develops an adequate and ideal nation. 

As I said, the refuge might not be definitive,

But to reach this perfect state, our minds get creative.

It changes from person to person, everyone finds comfort in something in a different way,

Many of us sing our favourite lyrics, to brighten our soul that was once grey.

You cannot survive a day in this generation without the daily potion of dopamine,

Especially because our mind works all day, every day like a machine.

These small moments of joy in this rapid-paced life,

Motivate us to live our prime time now, so there won't be regret in the afterlife.

As the last stanza of my short poem, I just want to emphasize,

That loving and caring for yourself and others has no limits or size. 

Teenagers try to find their identity and the other piece to make a whole,

Just enjoy daily life, and fight towards making it out of this loophole.
