Ideal Christmas

What could be better at 7:30 in the morning than decorating the classroom? Christmas music echoing, creeping out into the hall, through every crack and closed door for everyone else to hear, for them to understand that December has finally come.

Decorations running from hand to hand, the most capable ones to transform the boring, too white walls into snow, reflecting the yellow of the warm bulbs. Team play, that is all it takes. One stepping on a chair to reach the door frame. Another handing them what needs to be hanged. Again another untangling the messy ball of lights. And again another cutting up the tape to secure the little stars along the wall.

Someone brought a homemade piece of decor? Perfect! Right in the centre is where it belongs for everyone to enjoy. What is the chalkboard even for if not to receive the majestic treatment of decorations? Because it is surely not to be written on during the awaiting of the holiday.

The smell of oranges and cinnamon floating through the air. Sweets and clementines appearing out of nowhere, like wonders on Christmas Eve. Darkness mingles with the light. Nothing evil, only the comfort of the city and the calm of having others by our sides. Talking to each other is suddenly a necessity not one person can survive without, even if it solely lasts for a minute, only a look, to see a smile on someone's face.

What could infiltrate this magical atmosphere? Yesterday's, today's and tomorrow's tasks, tests falling through the holy spirit, we are 12th graders after all. But you know what? Nothing can destroy the grandeur of decorating. This moment is ours,

and no one can take it from us.
