Lie if you must

He has always said, do not tell me lies

Instead, cover your ears and close your eyes.

Because only what I believe is true,

I have my sight, I always know what you do.

So, tell me a story, lie if you must

Let all that’s happened turn into dust.

I would rather think I’m right, supercilious,

Than admit: your crime isn’t so serious.

Lie if you must, weave me an intrepid tale

But what I want to hear, I will never unveil.

Don’t be fooled, though, all I say is of honey,

Gold and sweet, not worthy of your money.
