Passion for disaster

We should have listened to our parents when they told us to go home when it was still not dark. Then this would not have happened. If I were you, and my parents told me to do something, I would listen to them. Believe me, you will not regret it!

So, let’s start it from the beginning. My friends and I decided to go out and play the sport that we were keen on: volleyball.  We said that we would meet at 1 pm. at the sport park called “La Terenuri”. There were players on the other pitch, though there was no favorable weather, it was almost freezing outside.

I thought that I would go home after an hour, but one of my friends begged me to stay. I was cold, but I couldn't complain, as we played well. So, instead of going home, I chose to stay.

In the beginning, I couldn’t play well, my fingers felt as though they had been frozen. Eventually, I got better, as I warmed up a little bit. We did not pay attention to the time, and soon we woke up that we did not tell our parents that we would like to stay longer, as we did not finish playing at the agreed time.

During the games, I had a peculiar feeling, that someone was watching us through the shadows of the forest behind us. But as I turned back to see if there was any problem there, I only saw the dense forest in the fog. I thought that it was only my imagination, so I assumed that it was nothing essential.

After the ball was hit out on the fence surrounding the track, in the direction of the forest, one of my friends went to get it back. Then we went to drink some water and give our parents a call, and tell them that we were okay, so they wouldn’t worry about our safety.

Before I left, my mom had told me to be prudent, as in those days they weren’t safe. I left it to her. During hydration, we heard stifled screams, so we all turned in that direction to see what happened. Our friend had disappeared, the volleyball stood there lonely.

All of us froze for a minute, no one knew what to do first. But then we all started to do something. The boys ran out to search for our lost teammate. Those who remained near the court started to call the emergency services and our parents. They found our friend in the woods, babbling in fright. So, this is how it happened. Our passion turned into disaster.
