The creature by the river

It was a foggy day out. Jesse had just woken up after a long night of work. He decided that that day was going to be his. He was finally going to take a break after all the work his boss had given him. There was just one problem: he hadn't decided how he was going to spend his free time.

He needed some ideas, so he decided to call his friends. Unfortunately, most of them were unavailable, as it was a Thursday, and everyone was still working. He almost gave up when he remembered that he knew someone named David, who specialized in taking people camping.

"Yes, of course," he thought to himself. "How could I forget?"

He gave him a call, and it not long after, they decided on a place. It was a forest not too far away from either of them, so it seemed like the best option.

David had taken people there many times, and he said that everyone had enjoyed it. From the small children to the old ladies. Before they started, they had to bring supplies that were necessary for survival in a forest: a tent, some food, water, and all sorts of other tools that were essential.

As they started going towards the place, David told Jesse told some spooky stories he'd heard about the forest. He was mocking the people that told them, as of course, he'd never seen such anomalies. He considered them childish ghost stories, and whilst Jesse did agree, it still made him a bit uneasy.

After they'd arrived, they needed to pick a spot where they could set up their tents and make some food. After searching for about an hour, they settled on a spot that was surrounded by trees, and next to a river. After about an hour, they started to hear a rumbling sound.

David assured Jesse that it was just the wind, but eventually, they heard a scream. Now, they were terrified. Then they saw a creature. It started attacking the tent and destroying the equipment. Suddenly, Jesse ran out of the tent, and not long after, the creature caught him and sent him flying into the river. Then, the monster threw the tent into the river as well.
