The Exam Monster

Part one-

It was a dark morning in November, when even nature was still sleeping in the early hour. Not a single soul wanted to go to school and rot there for an entire day as a forgotten craved pumpkin. Yet, our ordinary teenage boy had the most shocking event happening in his life.

After his day at school had ended so slowly, this boy, named Oscar was trying to stay awake during his last class. He didn't manage, and eventually he woke up at night when everyone had already left the school. Afraid of what was going to happen next, he ran to the door, but it was closed. He managed to escape with the use of a chair, but he was in a difficult situation, because he didn’t se anything. The corridor was so dark he didn't even see what or who was standing in front of him. He could only hear the terrifying words of an unknown creature.

Part two-

A broken voice, dripping with anger and despair, whispered his name. “Oscar, Oscar,” it moaned, like a mourning widow. He felt a shiver down his spine as this eerie, terrifying creature charged towards him. His mind raced with questions: “Who is this? Where can I hide? Why am I here alone?”

But its footsteps were creeping closer. He rushed to the janitor’s room, seeking shelter. Though the janitor was gone, the metal door offered him some protection. He thought about calling the police, but the phone cable was cut, and the lights were out.

The creepy creature reached the janitor’s door. Our boy was terrified by its unsettling voice, but all it said was like his math teacher: “The exam is close, you should exercise more.” Suddenly, he was back in math class, the teacher arguing with a student about homework.

Nearly fainting, he barely realized this had been a nightmare, and he was the happiest student in that math class, because at least he wasn’t in a spooky, abandoned school being chased by an exam monster.
