The hero of Bács - part 1

The Bács rumor mill has been in overdrive since last month, after numerous peculiar occurrences had been reported to the police by the inhabitants of the comparatively windless village. Bystanders, inter alia, gave descriptions about several atypical events, such as an elderly woman claiming that, her wallet was not stolen, it was returned.

A man asserted that he had left his bike in the front of his house. But only in the morning had he noticed his mistake, however, the vehicle was still there. In addition, locals claimed that they got free sitting places on the buses. Another captivating case was when, during the course of one night, three new and relatively modern bus stations were placed all across the settlement.

While the former cases were treated with lighter interest, this particular happening had attracted the attention of the authorities. However, most people think that the more they were trying to guess the identity of the faceless hero, the further away they got from the answer.

Tóth László was an everyday guy. He was born in Kisbács, and he spent his childhood in the village. He worked as an electrician and plumber for 40 years, now he is 62. His wife passed away 3 years ago, and his children live in Germany. Now he is watching the news, and he is horrified by what he sees in the news. For he returned a wallet 2 weeks ago, and he gave his place to others on the bus, and yes, he also managed to make three new bus stations with lamps, but he was not a mysterious hero! In the first two cases he just tried to be polite, and kind, and with the stations… he had enough of standing in the rain, while waiting for the bus.

But he enjoyed the feeling of being special.  He knew that he would need a new name, for his work, a new identity, and his superhero name would be Leslie Toth.
