Numerous articles have been written about the events which were far from mundane. These publications claimed that, due to some mysterious force, Bács was thriving.
Leslie Toth was delighted with both the news and the public opinion regarding his deeds. After he repainted the crosswalks in the settlement and repaired two outdoor faucets totally free, he knew he had to act on a wider scale. He inquired from his neighbors what the village’s greatest need was.
The majority asserted that what the settlement needed most was a new pub, with cheaper beer. Unfortunately, Leslie thought that the village already had more than enough pubs. For some days, he felt uncertain what to do. But when he was travelling with the LT mobile alias M31, he noticed something strange. At the corner of Transilvaniei Street and Privighetorii Street, the asphalt had been torn up.
“Strange,” he murmured.
The dire situation did not improve even after many weeks. After 4 days of constant rain, the road transformed into a swirling mud sea. The workers just stood there leaning on their shovels.
“I can’t allow this to continue” thought Leslie, so he walked to one of the workers.
“Sorry for the inconvenience, but why is only one of you working, don’t you see that the folks are nearly dying in this mud?”
“Sir, we are paid by the hour.”
At this moment, he realized that these evil creatures with their massive beer bellies would not resolve the problem in the near future, he had to take control over the situation.
“Asphalting a street corner?” he thought, “It would be such a vast work… but if the village needs this, I will do it for the inhabitants!”
