Last year in October, Alex went to the school library. It was a cold day. The sky was grey. The wind was strong. Many students went home. Some made Halloween costumes. Alex stayed in the library. He liked books. It was quiet. He sat down and started to read an old book
The book was brown. The title was: "Stories from Transylvania." He read and turned the pages.
Then he heard a small sound. He looked up. No one was there. Then he heard a voice. It was very quiet. The voice said:
"Go to shelf number seven."
Alex stood up. He walked to shelf number seven.
He looked at the old books. He liked old books On the floor, He saw a small, black book. It had no title. He opened the book. The first page said:
"This book is not just a normal book!"
Alex smiled.
"Maybe it’s a joke," he said.
He took the book with him.
That night was the Halloween party. There were candies, pumpkins, and music. Alex met his friends. He showed the book. He opened it again. New words came on the second page:
"I will be here with you. Here is a little story for you. "
Alex was surprised. He started to read. The story was about a school. A ghost lived there. But it was a good ghost. The ghost helped people. It found lost things. It sang songs when kids were sad. People never saw the ghost. But they knew it was there.
The last line said:
"Some ghosts are not scary. Some ghosts just want to help."
Then the words disappeared. The pages were empty. Now, every Halloween, Alex goes to the library. He opens the black book. A new story is always there, and sometimes, students say they hear annoying sounds.
