The Life of Lesy

It all started with a puppy in an old car repair shop, which happened to be home to a dog who had given birth to six puppies; one of them being her. It just so happened that we were driving past that shop when we got a flat tire.

“Something sounds weird...” my dad said, so we turned into the alleyway of the mechanic’s shop.

While we were waiting, I heard some unexpected sounds. It turned out to be the six puppies and their mother. I immediately turned to my father, giving him a slight grin.

“This guy has puppies. We needed one, didn’t we?!” I exclaimed excitedly.

He nodded and asked the man if he was selling any of them. The mechanic said he was. After some bargaining, we ended up with a German Shepherd puppy. We decided to name her Lesy, inspired by the Lassie movie.

She grew up with my grandparents and me during the time I spent there on vacation. I made lots of memories with her. I remember her giving birth to three puppies, who unfortunately did not grow up (they passed away one week later due to some unknown reason).

She was an amazing friend, not just a pet. We had great fun running in the garden, playing fetch. But besides that, she was the one who saved my life, she jumped in front of me when I was attacked by some stray dog.

Lesy was one true friend, and losing her was painful. Over her eleven years, she lived a meaningful life, full of joy, challenges, and everything in between. This is the short version of Lesy’s life.

In memory of Lesy (2013-2025, April 2nd)

“Here lies a soul the world could not keep, and time could not forget.”
