The Mystery of Thornbridge Manor – Part 1

Thornbridge Manor felt even darker and colder than usual as the rain poured down upon the vast estate. The atmosphere was tense inside. It was the day of their mother’s funeral, who had disappeared from the public because of a scandal.

The governess arrived in the morning, and when she opened the door to the master bedroom, the corpse of Zachary Carlisle, the younger brother of Alexa Christine Carlisle, was discovered in his room. There was a glass of whiskey alongside his bed, and the door was locked from the inside, and no one else had the key other than the governess, who had been away for the weekend. When Alexa found out, she called over a private detective.

The family gathered in the dining room. The oldest brother, Gregory, became frustrated from waiting, and demanded explanations. The family's head, Alexa, kept a close eye on everyone, while her expression was unreadable. Other than Alexa, nobody knew who had called the detective who had shown up earlier that day.

He walked slowly through the manor, listening to every confession and examining every room. Secrets started to surface as the investigation went on. Zachary had been concealing his journals, which pointed to regret and guilt over a long-standing family issue. It became clear that this wasn’t a suicide, and it wasn’t a random killing, either. Someone had planned it carefully.
