We were raised this way

It has been decided: we crave luxury,
our hands too soft for any injury.
One claims we are lost,
that our paths are covered in dust.
Clumsy, spoiled, careless bastards,
frightened by any assignment.
We are scolded, accused of crimes,
whereas all we want is to make rhymes.
It is allowed to speak up freely,
however, we are shut up constantly.
Every sentence of ours
is deemed a mindless desire.
We question rules, we test what’s true,
but they still call it rebellion instead of truth.
We desire a voice, request a say, only to shape tomorrow’s fragile day.
“Tyrants!” has become our name,
symbolizing that we are insane.
Youth before was judged the same,Is history repeating the blame-filled game?
We are commanded to bow like before,
to act as if there is left any hope.
The future feels unsure, unclear, thus, laughter often masks our fear.
So, don’t just judge, don’t turn away,We’re seeking hope in our own way.Nothing new, the world’s in chains,
as history repeats itself over and over again.
